“I started with Puro in January this year and have loved learning from both the plants and the people here.

“I am mainly based at our Waihopai site where we run our indoor breeding programme. I would describe my role as generally being a plant mamma. This is perfect for me as this is my favourite thing to do so it makes my job super enjoyable, sort of like I can bring my hobby to work.

“Through my work I am continually working on my craft and helping the plants reach their maximum potential. The plants have responded well to the environment and cultivation practices we’re using and we’ve achieved really good results in terms of cannabinoid profiles, yield and phenotypes. Based on this I have a lot of confidence that Puro will be a leader for the growing industry and it’s really exciting to be a part of.

“For me personally, organic growing is very important. I believe our future is dependent on horticultural businesses going in this direction as it allows us to continue supplying the public with food and medicine without such a large cost on the earth. It’s been really great to be immersed in an equally passionate team, which makes it easier to form deeper connections and shared goals.

“Everyone at Puro is very receptive to ideas and feedback around how to improve any aspect of our work and the business which builds a nice team culture centred around trust, openness, and value. There’s a great energy about working here.”
